I have not completely worked this out yet entirely, but I want to work a game of 5-card draw (or maybe stud) into extended challenges. What you see below is a rough draft:
- Each Party Rolls Appropriate skill
- Each party gets five cards +1 for each raise *
- Compare poker hands
- Fail = draw four cards
- Crit fail = Lose disastrously at the start
- on an extended unopposed challenge, the player gets one card for meeting the sucessful DC +1 for each raise
I am toying with making it a “best of three hands” for challenges that last hours or longer, or a hand each hour to measure progress.
I am waffling between setting certain hands to succeeed in unopposed tasks or having the ‘task’ draw a hand.
